FAQ

Tax & shipping questions.

Answers about how sales tax is calculated, where we ship, and what to expect with duties and international orders.

How is sales tax calculated on my order?

Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your shipping address and the items in your cart. We collect sales tax only where we are required to by law, and the amount is determined by state and local tax rules.

Why did I get charged sales tax when someone else didn't?

Tax rates and rules vary by state, county, and city. If your shipping address is in a taxable location, you may see tax on your order while a friend in a different area does not.

Do you collect sales tax in every state?

We collect sales tax in states where we have a legal obligation to do so. As our business grows, more states may be added to that list. The exact tax is shown before you complete your purchase.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to many countries outside the United States. International shipping options and rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order.

Will I have to pay customs duties or import fees?

Orders shipped outside the United States may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees charged by your country's customs office. These fees are not included in our shipping cost or item price, and they are the responsibility of the recipient.

How are duties and taxes calculated for international orders?

Customs authorities in your country determine duties and taxes based on the value, type, and origin of the goods. Each country has its own rules, so we recommend contacting your local customs office if you need an estimate before ordering.

Can you mark my international order as a gift to avoid duties?

We are unable to alter the declared value or mark packages as gifts to avoid customs charges. Accurate customs declarations are required by law, and misrepresenting shipment details can cause delays or penalties.

What happens if my package is held by customs?

If customs holds your package, they will usually contact you directly to arrange payment of duties or taxes. We cannot control customs processing times, and any delays at the border are outside of our responsibility.

How long does international shipping take?

International delivery times vary by destination and shipping method. Most orders arrive within 7–21 business days after they ship, but customs clearance can add extra time. Tracking information is provided when available.

Can I return an item that came with high duties?

Duties and import taxes are not refundable through Liberal Label. If you return an item, you may be able to recover duties from your country's customs office, but that process is handled by them directly.
